It's the end of the year again: time to sum up everything about it. Please post your nominations for best driving album of 2013 below with its optimal driving scenario ( Canyon Carving , Traffic Jams , Road Tripper , Sunday Drive , [or any other I've forgotten]), and we will vote on a separate post.
I will only include an album if it has 2 or more recommendations. To get recommendations, you may want to include an argument that includes a song or single if the album is not well known around these parts. Albums must have been released in 2013.

Jimmy Eat World - Damage
Canyon Carving
It may not be the most metal album ever, but most of the times I don't want all-out crazed riffs and screams when running through the hills.

I guess I forgot to mention an "optimal" driving condition.
It is for the beginning or end of a long day. I drive a lot for a living so I usually wrap a long stretch up with this album. The masterpiece that is this album makes one nostalgic for home and for the comfort of loved ones. It provides for a nice upbeat ending to the droll that is driving for work and it pulls the heartstrings to the limit with "Coming Home" and "Let it Go...".
I have long been a fan of Butch and this is by far one of his best. Check it out as fractal has made it quite easy to find for you.
Disclaimer: if you cry at any point during the listening of the album I do not assume blame.

The Next Day by David Bowie.
This is classic Bowie mixed with modern Bowie in the best way possible.

By you guys... you are probably meaning me. And yep. I like things when they are big.
Most pictures which are even vaguely on topic, so long as they have some aesthetic composition, and can be embiggened, should be. I miss the days of bigger pictures. And I do everything I can to make em bigger on here. It barely affects mobile users, and it makes it so desktop users get bigger pics.

Airbourne - Black Dog Barking
This Australian band owes a lot to AC/DC. The music is very similar, but Airbourne has that extra gear that makes the music well suited for driving. In fact I were introduced to this band by Burnout Paradise , where a song from their first album was featured. Since then they're released two more albums, and the last one this last spring. I went to their gig in Oslo in October, and were very impressed by the energy and rawness in their music. I would recommend it for Canyon Carving, because it might have too much energy for the other cathegories.

Year of No Light - Tocsin

Optimal driving scenario - Road trips... Anytime between twilight and dawn, though. Preferably closer to sunset.
I played it for the first time in the Mazda3, between Montgomery and Birmingham, on the way home from visiting a friend on Iron Bowl weekend, and it was a great companion for a late night on rural Alabama interstates.
